This year, the cruise is looking to be bigger than ever with the addition of three "Pit Stop" locations along 28th Street. Each year, the Metro Cruise® produces a high-quality, full color Program. These are distributed before the event at multiple local businesses, at the Main Event at Rogers Plaza, and this digital online version.

The food vendors are grouped into two locations, Metro Square on the west end, Metro Way on the east end. We do now offer 2 Hour Collector Car parking! We are allocating one full row of parking (24 spots) on the east end of the Rogers Plaza Main Event site to any collector car. Woodland Mall will have a 2 hour parking area as well.

The Main Event at Rogers Plaza, located at th Street SW, will be Friday, Aug. 26 from 2 p.m. Submit your photos from wherever you are at Metro Cruise to by Monday, Aug. 28 for a chance to have them included in WKTV Journal’s photo gallery. “The Wyoming Police Department is committed to providing a safe environment during the event for all to enjoy,” said Koeller. Eventgoers can expect to see WYPD in marked police vehicles, police motorcycles, on bicycles, and on foot.
Metro Cruise launches new Cars ' Clubs event
This long-standing event continues with it’s laid back feel and community involvement. By far, the busiest spots of Metro Cruise® are the Main Event sites located at the Rogers Plaza mall parking lot in the city of Wyoming, and Woodland Mall in Kentwood. This Main Event site also features a free shuttle service courtesy of the Rapid. There are more ways than ever to enjoy your favorite auto event. Based on feedback from the community and a desire to reach more people, we invite you to visit one or all of our PIT STOP sites! These sites will be much smaller than our MAIN EVENT sites, will each have one or more auto-related entertainment features, and offer easier access.

The 28th Street Metro Cruise® is unlike other car cruises – you may cruise your own car anytime. The West Michigan SAAB Club and Great Lakes Region Volvo Club of America car clubs will be set up at the Cascade Retail Center Pit Stop location with food, entertainment and more. The Miata Owners of West Michigan, Camaros of Michigan and Low Riders car clubs will be set up at the Betten Baker Grandville Pit Stop location with food, entertainment and more. The locations are in addition to the two main event locations at Roger's Plaza and the Woodland Mall. Take the kids to the MAIN EVENT at Woodland Mall for numerous kids activities.

These event sites are smaller, with each one offering unique features. Metro Cruise annually attracts 15,000+ Collector/Sports/Antique cars to the greater Grand Rapids area. An estimated 200,000 people participate in Metro Cruise® related events throughout the area! The biggest and busiest sites of Metro Cruise are at the MAIN EVENT sites. There are two of them – Rogers Plaza mall in Wyoming, and Woodland Mall in Kentwood.

Park at any other participating site on 28th Street. Enjoy the event from your favorite local restaurant, store, or park and be part of their event. Be advised that outside of our official sites, you must check with the property owner on their events, pricing, and policies during Metro Cruise weekend. Our applications are officially open for registration for the 2023 Metro Cruise event, set for August 25 & 26.

Each year at our Main Event sites, we book classic, antique, muscle, sports, and special interest cars of all types to be part of the main... The Woodland Mall Main Event location will offer several family-friendly activities such as live music, Car Smash, RC Car building and racing, a climbing wall, a scavenger hunt, and much more. One thing that you’ll love about the Cruise – in addition to all of the awesome classic cars – is the multitude of businesses along 28th Street. There are dozens of hotels and restaurants throughout the area – lots of them right on 28th Street!
From being in the center of a MAIN EVENT site, to sitting on a blanket in a quiet city park to watch the cars go by, there are many ways to experience the event. There are many ways to get your car connected to Metro Cruise! The 28th Street Metro Cruise® only happens with the participation of business sponsors.
The famous Collector Car Row, the lineup of 200-plus show cars along 28th Street, and live music will be featured each day,” says Keith Morgan, President of the Wyoming-Kentwood Chamber of Commerce. The Woodland Mall is back again for its second year as another main event location for the 2023 Metro Cruise. Woodland Mall will feature lots of different food options from vendor booths and food trucks. 2-hour collector car parking areas – all MAIN EVENT and PIT STOP sites offer these areas. You can cruise in and out of these at your leisure, they are first-come, first-served, with no registration.
Here, the show cars are stationary and attendees walk around and view them. Open hours are 2pm-9pm on Friday, 11am-9pm on Saturday. This year Metro Cruise has booked 28 food vendors, making it one of the biggest mobile food events in West Michigan. From food trucks, food trailers, concessionaires, we have the food and favorites you know and love. Wood-fired pizza, slow-smoked BBQ, ethnic foods, authentic tacos, tamales, sausages, corn dogs, elephant ears, funnel cakes, and much more. Note the location of the important spots – Shuttle pickup/drop-off site, Information & Safety tent, Metro-Main Stage, the Dyno, and of course the food.

For those into engine tinkering, mods, and horsepower, the Metro Cruise MAIN EVENT at Rogers Plaza hosts a full size mobile Dynamometer. The Metro Cruise Main Event weekend is 2 day celebration of cars, local business, great food, and family and friends. 28th Street is 13 miles long with hundreds of private and public events happening throughout. There are many ways attendees can enjoy the Metro Cruise weekend. You may visit the Main Event sites at Rogers Plaza or Woodland Mall. You may set up chairs, blankets, and tents on the grass along 28th Street to view the classic cars, which can be seen at all hours during the 2 day event. You may simply visit a restaurant or bar on 28th Street, many of which will have extra entertainment like outdoor beer tents, DJ’s, live bands, car-themed entertainment, and more.
